What To Do In North Salem This Weekend

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – Halloween events, fun at the firehouse and a couple of concerts are among the events planned in North Salem this weekend.

Friday, Oct. 26

Halloween Costume Party - The Walking Dead: 7 to 11 p.m. Come in costume and enjoy live music, refreshments, prizes and fun. Admission is $40 per person, to benefit the Lasdon Conservancy. For tickets, call 914-864-7268. The party takes place at Lasdon Park and Arboretum on Route 35 in Somers.

Saturday, Oct. 27

Come in Costume: 10:30 a.m. Kids of all ages are invited to come in costume to hear some spooky Halloween stories. Ruth Keeler Memorial Library, 276 Titicus Road, North Salem.

Open House at the Fire Station: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Croton Falls Volunteer Fire Department will give demonstrations and offer rides on firetrucks, as well as serving up lots of refreshments and more. Titicus Road Fire House, 301 Titicus Road, North Salem.

Helene Grimaud Concert: Champagne reception at 7:30 p.m., followed an 8:30 p.m. performance by internationally acclaimed pianist Helene Grimaud. Grimaud is also the founder of South Salem’s Wolf Conservancy. The concert is for the benefit of the North Salem Open Land Foundation. Tickets start at $250 per person. Sunday, Oct. 28

Last Farmers Market: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It’s the final day for this season’s market. Fresh produce, meats, cheese, soaps, candles, honey, maple syrup, flowers, fish and delicacies from local farmers and artisans are available. Muscoot Farm on Route 100, 1.5 miles south of Route 35, Somers.

Muscoot Boo Walk: Noon to 3 p.m. Take the kids in their Halloween costumes to Muscoot’s scavenger hunt along the Boo Trail. Everyone who completes the search gets a treat. Muscoot Farm on Route 100, 1.5 miles south of Route 35, Somers.

West Point Concert: 3 p.m. The West Point Saxophone Quartet will give an afternoon performance, sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Ruth Keeler Memorial Library, 276 Titicus Road, North Salem.
