She's an active 5-year-old dog who's initially shy around strangers. "She's not great with all dogs and is not a fan of cats, but she is great with people and will make a terrific companion," the shelter notes. "She'll do best in an adult only home."

For a video of Cookie gamely wearing a shark costume during Shark Week, click on the video embedded above. "Any dog who splashes around a pool in a shark costume is pretty darn awesome," the shelter says.

Email trainer@spca914.org to learn more about Harper or to arrange to meet her.

The SPCA is located at 590 North State Rd., in Briarcliff Manor. It's open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 1-4 p.m. on Sunday. For more info about the shelter, visit its website or Facebook page.
