The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, a “marathon-and-a-half,” will take place May 18 and 19. Tens of thousands of men and women have done the walk over the past 10 years, according to Carol Kurzig of the Avon Foundation for Women. Each year the number of entrants increases, she said.

Each team member is required to raise $1,800. Paesano will be walking in a four-person team, which will also include Emily MacKenzie, Lea Swanson and Barbara Bigler, so their team goal is $7,200.

So far, Paesano, a 14-year survivor of breast cancer, has raised nearly half of her personal goal sum. This will be Paesano’s fourth year in the marathon.

If you would like to support Paesano and her team in their effort to beat cancer, a tax-deductible donation can be made online.

Donations can also be mailed directly to Barbara Paesano, 11 Rockledge Drive, Brewster, NY 10509.
