North Salem's Friends Of Karen Adds Staff To Seek Increase In Donations

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- Kristi Hennessy is joining the North Salem-based Friends of Karen in a new position.

Hennessy will become the Major Gifts program manager and will be primarily responsible for developing the program for major donors in the area, according to a news release from the group. 

Friends of Karen supports children with life-threatening illnesses and their families and has branches in North Salem and New York City. 

Hennessy comes to Friends of Karen after working for 12 years at Historic Hudson Valley, managing donor relations. 

“Friends of Karen has 35 years of experience being a lifeline for children with a life-threatening illness and their families,” said Hennessy in a news release. “As a mom of two young children, I feel for the families we serve and want to fulfill the goal of reaching many more families who need our support.”

Friends of Karen provides "vital, practical and comprehensive support to families caring for a child with a life-threatening illness to help free them of everyday needs and concerns, so they have more time to love," according to the release.
