121 Restaurant Is Peach Lake Sewer's First User

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – The Peach Lake Sewer District achieved its initial hookup on Tuesday, and the owners and staff of 121 Restaurant and Deli are delighted to be the recipients of the honor.

Waste water has been running through the treatment plant for several days, said engineer Sarah Cwikla of GHD, the principal designers of the project. She added that the equipment has been meeting all effluent requirements without additional chemicals, although more chemicals may be required depending upon future usage.

The new Peach Lake Environmental Center, which has been under construction for several years, will replace the septic systems of 470 homes in the area. Everyone will be hooked up by the end of the year, said North Salem Supervisor Warren Lucas.
