North Salem Democrats Endorse Buchwald for Assembly

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - Recent electoral redistricting has placed North Salem in the newly renumbered 93rd Assembly District, currently represented by incumbent Republican Robert Castelli.

The North Salem Democratic Committee has announced its unanimous endorsement of David Buchwald as a candidate for the seat in the November election.

"Buchwald really impressed us when he spoke here in North Salem. His vision in Albany that works to empower local government and school districts fits perfectly with what we here in North Salem are looking for," said Democratic Co-Chair Herb Geller.

Buchwald has served on the White Plains Common Council, has been chairman of the White Plains Traffic Commission and is currently chairman of the Metro-North Railroad Commuter Council. Among his achievements with the council are the inauguration of quiet cars and the creation of a bill of rights for commuters.

Buchwald studied physics at Yale, and earned a J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School. He also has a master's degree in public policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government. He has worked as an economist for National Economic Research Associates, interned at the Manhattan District Attorney’s office and is currently active as a tax attorney with the law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP.
