The sweet and gentle reindeer and their handlers are an annual favorite that delights kids at the CCC each year, organizers noted. The CCC also held its annual Polar Express Holiday Party the same two days, featuring a scale model of the famous train, complete with handmade terrain, all done by Katonah resident Fran Resch.

CCC Executive Director Polly Peace donned her flannel gown and granny glasses, to read "The Polar Express" to the children. Santa also made several surprise visits during the day.

Frosty the Snowman was also on hand to entertain the youngsters. Holiday treats were also available, and decorations decked the halls.

CCC children made a special stop this year at the Gingerbread House and visited with the Gingerbread Man, who handed out gingerbread baked by the children.

Children from all five CCC locations -- in Katonah, Bedford Hills and Yorktown -- visited the site and enjoyed the activities over the two days.
