Construction on a new pool and pool house began this month at the private club in North Salem.
The new building will house men’s and women’s locker rooms, a teaching and golf simulator room, and a children’s activity room.
A halfway house, outdoor bar and patio for member dining also are planned.
The new facilities are expected to open late spring 2017.
Additionally, a fitness center with a private studio for pilates and yoga, will be located in the main clubhouse.
Salem Golf Club opened in 1966 and is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
The club has undergone renovations in the past few years to enhance the course and upgrade tees and greens, said a release.
The bunkers on all 18 holes have undergone a significant facelift, new cart paths were installed, and the practice facilities were expanded.
In addition, the par-3 10th hole currently is being relocated to increase the hole’s drama.
