911 Call Reporting Route 202 Erratic Driver Leads To DWI Charge

A midday emergency call from a concerned motorist led to the arrest of a 73-year-old woman who was allegedly drinking and driving on Route 202 in Yorktown, police said.

Members of the Yorktown Police Department received the 911 call at approximately 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, of an erratic driver on Crompond Road. 

Officers responded to the area, where they found Yorktown Heights resident Annmay Efraimsen and conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Elizabeth Road.

Police said that during the traffic stop, Efraimsen was found to be intoxicated, and she was subsequently arrested for impaired driving.

Efraimsen was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated. 

Following her arraignment, Efraimsen was released to a sober third-party and was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Tuesday, Dec. 18 to respond to the charges.
