New York State Police troopers were dispatched to a Springvale Road home in Cortlandt on Sept. 13, where there was a report of a larceny from a vehicle that had taken place overnight. The subsequent investigation identified Cortlandt resident Naseem Shad as a potential suspect.

Police said that after allegedly breaking into the vehicle, Shad used stolen credit cards to make several illegal purchases. When he was arrested in Cortlandt on Thursday, investigators found him to be in possession of a mask, bolt cutters, additional stolen items from unrelated crimes, and a small amount of Adderall.

Cole was charged with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, criminal mischief, all felonies. He was also charged with misdemeanor counts of identity theft, possession of burglar tools and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Shad was arraigned in the Town of Cortlandt Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to appear back in court on Oct. 9 to answer the charges.
