Michael A. Lalli of New Milford, Conn., is charged with felony DWI and felony aggravated unlicensed operation after state police learned that his New York driving priviledges were revoked because of two prior DWI-related convictions, police said. He's also charged with unlawful fleeing in a motor vehicle and other traffic offenses, police said.

It all started when police saw his Ford Explorer going southbound on the Taconic at more than 75 mph, New York State Police said. The car got off at Beekman Road then re-entered to try to avoid police, troopers said.

After activating lights and sirens, the state trooper pursued the Explorer onto I-84 eastbound in East Fishkill where the car eventually stopped, police said. Troopers said he was intoxicated at the time of the stop, and a breath sample showed a blood alcohol content of .13 percent.

He was released with an order to return to court July 27 at the Town of East Fishkill Court, police said.
