Man Found Passed Out In Car On Taconic, Police Say

YORKTOWN, N. Y. -- A 28-year-old Jefferson Valley man is facing several drug charges, including driving while impaired, after New York State Police investigated a report of an unconscious man in a stopped car in the middle lane of the Taconic State Parkway near Yorktown, state police said.

David C. Vazquez is charged with felony driving while ability impaired along with felony first-degree unlicensed operation since his license was revoked due to a previous DWI conviction, police said. His previous DWI conviction was within the last 10 years, police said.

He's also charged with misdemeanor seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic instrument after police found heroin in his car, police said.

He was released with tickets to appear in the Yorktown Town Court on Aug. 25, police said.
