Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley announced the arrest of Brewster resident Jose Ramirez-Morales, 37, who is facing a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content more than .18 percent dating back to an incident on April 14.

At approximately 2:20 a.m. on April 14, a deputy sheriff on patrol on Route 22 in Southeast stopped Ramirez-Morales when he failed to maintain his lane while driving. During the subsequent stop, it was determined that Ramirez-Morales was allegedly intoxicated, and he was arrested at the scene.

Ramirez-Morales was also charged with various traffic violations. After being processed on the DWI charge, he was released into the custody of a sober third party and is due back in court later this year to answer the charge.
