The fire started around 11 a.m. Monday at the seven-story Garth Wood Cooperative complex at 235 Garth Road, Eastchester. 

Eastchester police said Garth Road is closed to all vehicular traffic as crews battle the blaze. All motorists are asked to avoid the area.
