Two Vehicles Stolen In Area

Police are reinforcing a message to area residents: lock your cars at night and don’t leave the keys inside.

Two vehicles were stolen in Newtown over the weekend: the first from Currituck Road, the second from Old Bethel Road, in the early morning hours of Friday, Sept. 7. Police noted that both vehicles had the keys left in them before they were stolen.

Police said that one of the vehicles has been recovered after it was abandoned in Hartford. The search for the second vehicle is ongoing, which is also believed to be located in Hartford.
